“I have many favourite places in the school. The art classroom is where I find peace while painting and listening to music. The library is where I get motivation and search for books that match my interests. My room is where I see my amazing roommates and chat with them about our day.”

A day in the life of a residential student.
Students dress up for Character Day to celebrate their favourite characters. Year 10 student Muborak was inspired by Belle.
“After school, I like to play basketball and participate in track and field activities such as javelin and high jump. I am also involved in the Tajik History and Culture enrichment, where I spend time together with fellow Tajikistani students at the Academy learning more about our history, culture, values and beliefs. After one to two hours of enrichments, I go back to the residences and get ready for dinner. But right before dinner, I often go to the prayer room to pray with other Ismaili students. Then after having dinner, I study, call home to talk to my parents and get ready for bed.

The Academy offers various activities outside the classroom. This includes trips for residential students, Service Learning and events like Cultural Night and talent shows as well as opportunities to participate in sports on the weekends and holidays. At the Academy, there is a diverse, close-knit, and caring community. We learn how to work together and understand and cooperate with each other. We bond with our roommates, residential parents and other students living in our block.”
