Students at the Aga Khan Academy Maputo learn about their neighbouring countries’ history and the rich cultures in each country.
Our Network
In 2000, His Highness the Aga Khan initiated the establishment of the Aga Khan Academies, an integrated network of schools dedicated to expanding access to the highest standard of education in countries in Africa, South and Central Asia, and the Middle East. The first Academy opened in Mombasa, Kenya in 2003. Currently, three Academies are well established, with one poised to open next year. Four are in the planning stage, with land purchased for a further three.
